A brick wall adds a very intimate feeling to a room. But most often the dilemma is what you can put on this irregular wall, so you don’t leave it empty. Interior designers have compiled a list of some great solutions to personalize a brick wall. Here they are!
1. A mirror
An unfinished wall is itself a piece of decor that has the ability to change the whole atmosphere of a home. Especially since you will not leave the house unplastered, but most likely a single wall in a room. Place on it a porthole mirror. The round shape will be contrasting with the brick. In addition, the mirror will reflect in an elegant way the remaining space.
2. Shelves
A brick wall should be left “in plain view”. Therefore, a simple solution is to put on it some simple shelves. Place on them photos or funny drawings of your children.
3. Paintings
An unfinished brick wall is the ideal space of exhibition for a few paintings of nonconformist, contemporary art.
4. A wall clock
A retro clock on such a wall will give the impression of an exterior building rather than a bedroom wall in this case. You can use antique furniture and create a stunning setting.
5. A carpet
Carpets are not just for floors. Especially when you have an unplastered wall, a rug can be a perfect decoration piece to partially cover it.
6. Huge letters
Fix on the brick wall letters that form words or anagram phrases of some special significance for family members.
7. Paint
If you don’t want to keep the brick’s reddish brown, then paint them in white or any other color that suits the furniture you chose for the room.
8. Lights
Since the color of such a wall is dark because of the “raw” bricks, it would be better to enlighten it subtle. A garland of small bulbs fixed in a few strategic points or a lamp mounted in a place from which to cast a dim light on the wall, are perfect solutions to shine the unfinished wall.
