After years in which Scandinavian style has been used more often and more pronounced inside several houses all over the world, came its moment of glory. Trends of 2016 leads us to orient toward minimalist decors inspired by the simplicity of Nordic style, leaving behind the baroque accents recommended by previous years’ trends.
PINK AND BLUE ACENTS, THE STARS OF 2016
We already know that this year will be dominated not by one but two colors – an unprecedented decision of Pantone Institute – world authority in the field of colors. The two star colors of 2016 were announced late last year and are Rose Quartz and Serene Blue. If you want your home to be fashionable, do not hesitate to bring in decor finishes, furniture or accessories in these two gentle pastel shades.
KITCHEN FURNITURE IN DIFFERENT COLORS AND FINISHES
Surely you’ve seen until now enough bicolor kitchen furniture, so you can consider this trend not necessarily new. But 2016 will be in trend more than ever, kitchens equipped with furniture made of different combinations of textures and shades of wood, chipboard or MDF, and even in combinations of these.
So if, by chance or not, your kitchen is equipped with furniture from various collections, which harmonize visually, but not the same color or texture, in 2016 can tell your kitchen is ideal, in tune with the latest trends of the field.

Still in the kitchen area, we have to add that not only the furniture changes its appearance this year, but also appliances, batteries for sinks, and the main accessories. It could be a model with a special and spectacular frame or a mirror with an irregular shape – something to leap to the eye, to become the showpiece of the bath.

If you are among those who have a more spacious bathroom or even a small one, and you decided to equip it with a shower unit instead of a bathtub, you can consider this year’s trend: installing a bidet. Definitely you will not regret this purchase.
FIREPLACE – THE CENTERPIECE OF YOUR LIVING ROOM
I said from the beginning of the article that this year brings in the limelight the fireplace. It is again the main attraction of a living room, becomes again the element meant to gather around (or in front of it) close people, encouraging them to spend more time together. Do not think that if you live in a block you should skip this trend in interior design. It is true that you will not be able to mount a real fireplace with chimney and everything, but there will be no problem to beautify your living room with a fireplace on bioethanol or with an electric one.
