How to decorate your house in Chinese style

Chinese decors are renowned for their creative, delicate and airy appearance. At the same time, simplicity and vibrant colors describe them perfectly. If you’re thinking about redecorating your home in such a style, here are some tips that will be useful both in terms of choosing colors and furniture, and in terms of lighting and accessories:

Minimalist order

Asian rooms are known for simplicity and order, so the first thing you need to do is get rid of all objects that load the appearance of your home and focus on keeping items you really need in your home.

Neutral background with colored spots

The colors that Chinese usually use are neutral and warm. Opt for white smooth shades and drop white to create such a background, and create a splash of color with an Oriental rug, colorful linens or even some accessories to brighten the room.

Contrasting pieces of furniture

Combine massive furniture pieces with more delicate ones, carved in Chinese specific style to create a contrast effect. Asian furniture is mostly simple, but it has ornamental details that fit well with plain background.

Glowing lamps

Chinese rooms are often illuminated using paper lamps that should not miss from your home if you want such a setting. Use more such lamps in bright colors, to highlight every corner of the house.

Oriental accessories

A great way to get an authentic Chinese look for your home is to decorate it with oriental accessories colored in gold, red or other bright colors. You can use decorative kites, paintings, decorative candles, jade statues or decorative covers for pillows, to complete the oriental aspect.

ORIENTAL ACCESSORIES

Indoor fountains

Water is an important element in any Chinese decor, and the flowing one is just meant to calm you when you’re stressed. Use an indoor fountain to create this calm and quiet aspect or even a koi fish aquarium that will give your room that specific oriental air.
