Most times, when we renovate the house, we forget to give importance also to the stairs. But their structure is the one that can dictate the design, so that they become true home decor pieces. Here are some interesting ways in which you can stylize the staircase cheap and fast.
WALLPAPER
Stick on the height of the steps pieces of wallpaper with different patterns, so when you look at the staircase, to see a complex, sophisticated model. Choose the wallpaper depending on the rest of the design.
MINI CARPETS
You can give color to the entire house using mini carpets on the steps. That, of course, if you don’t have small children that might hinder in them or pets that play with them.
VINTAGE
For a retro look, you can dress the steps in wood paneling, on which to punch different names of old and newer brands.
KNITTED
With colored paint you can liven up an interior. Paint the stairs on their height in as varied as possible colors, then draw vertical lines. You will get a model that will resemble more with a very pleasant and warm knitting.
BALLOONS
Well, how could be more simple to change the look of an interior staircase than to decorate it with balloons, like for a party. Children will be delighted, but surely guests that will step into the house will amuse of the unique idea.
MIRRORS
Pieces of mirror placed like tiles on the height of the steps, will give shine to the entire house when light will reflect in them. It will be a fairly painstaking work to cut and then stick the mirror, but you’ll be very pleased with the effect obtained.
BLACKBOARD
The child will be very happy if he/she will have where to practice his/her talent as a painter with colored chalk. Even you will have a place to write your motivational messages if you overlay the steps with pieces of wood covered with black paint.
LIGHTS
A very elegant way to decorate the staircase is to use lights. LEDs hidden behind the steps, spread a diffuse light, that will create a very romantic atmosphere.
