PLAY WITH DECORATIONS AND HISTORY

The interior design is a spectacular area, always surprising, full of history. Despite modern tendencies which monopolize interior decor, many contemporary decorative elements still retain the charm of bygone years and is often mentioned by the great designers. The retro spaces, with classic and antique finish, fascinate and became increasingly popular and a successful and very elegant combination is the one between classic and modern style. Here are some tips that can help you create an amazing modern-antique decor:

1. ANCIENT SCULPTURES

If you want to create a classical atmosphere, you can use with confidence ancient sculptures. These classical busts are a simple and effective way to give a chic look, that seems taken from past centuries, to the modern decor. You can also find other decorative elements of impact in antique shops, such as a coffee table with some old wheels, even slightly rusty.

2. CLASSIC SCENES

The combination of modern and ancient objects look great. For example, you can use a modern sofa in the living room, huge chandeliers and a huge painting with classic scenes, with busts of Greek history. These juxtapositions are some of impact, which give a classic touch to any room, but in a very pleasant and subtle manner.

3. COLOR PALETTES

Open the doors of your house to time travel. Point your attention to a color palette in neutral and rich tones, to create a classic decor with contemporary strong accents.

Rely on solid wood and rich fabrics. Play with prints and use as many models, like damask or even a rich wallpaper or upholstered furniture.

If you want to mix decorative objects, see that they even belong to the same era. Do not mix, for example, Victorian pieces, from the middle of the twentieth century with very modern accents of today.
