This residence in Melbourne, Australia, called The Shakin Stevens House, enchants through the pure minimalist architecture and fresh colors, green being the star-color.
Instead of an imposing building with traditional facade, we find here three distinct minimalist cubes, one over another, which create a solid and free matrix. Through this unique overlap of open spaces, semi open and closed, the project was a success, earning popularity.
Matt Gibson Architecture triumphs with this project also through the fact that it has managed to create a unique expression of contemporary lifestyle through a model of modern and fresh house. The house reflects very well the vision and ambitions of architects, who brought again in the spotlight the green architecture.
The minimalist cubes are like a white canvas on which painters create life through color. In fact, at the base of this design project are two concepts: nature and color. Different shades of green are like a breeze of fresh air that enters the heart of the house.
The connection with nature is made not only through the vibrant shades of green (found mainly at furniture), but also through the large glass walls that offer transparency, visually uniting the two environments: interior and exterior.
In the interior design, the emphasis is on the fluidity of spaces, the creation of ample views to the outside and functionality. Although the decor elements seem small in number, they are placed strategically and successfully fulfill their role. The decorating style is in character with the architectural minimalism and the idea of a modern, fresh and airy house.
