Learn how to make an interesting night lamp with what you have at hand

To be welcoming, a home must meet several requirements, one of which is the properly lighting. If the night lamps found in stores are not your liking, you can do at home some extremely interesting lampshades made of parts that you have at hand. Here are some ideas:

Made from doilies

Want to get a vintage effect? Then use your grandma’s doilies. You can dress like this an older lampshade or you can create a new one. All you have to do is find a creative way to bond the crocheted pieces.

Ecologic

You are among ecology followers? Perfect! Then you know that recycling is essential, which is why we propose to reuse cardboard boxes. Choose the ones of pizza, for example: cut them out and overlap them so that you get a unique lampshade.

ECOLOGIC

Made from crepe paper

You’ve played with crepe paper at school all your childhood, but now it’s time to use it for serious things. Also in play you can create an interesting lampshade. You need wire and glue. Use the paper as a material to dress the support. Take care to design a fairly large lampshade and use energy saving light bulbs, to not risk to burn the paper.

Knitting lampshade

If you’re good at knitting, then choose to intertwine with knitting needles a lampshade. Guaranteed you’ll get a piece that will attract the attention of everyone who will step into your house. In addition, you can choose what color you want and you can change it whenever you’re bored.

Using a basket

Wire baskets for paper can become a perfect support for … a light bulb. How? You need a five liters basket to flip it upside down. Dress it in colorful ribbons and you get a lampshade. It is enough to insert a bulb connected to a lamp wire and you got a cheap but effective night lamp for your office or kid’s room.

Made from felt

Felt is an extremely interesting material when it comes to DIY creations. It’s easy to manage, which is why a lampshade made of felt will be easy to create. Cut out heart or tear shapes and bond them decreasing, so as to take the form of a lampshade. The light will pass through this pretty opaque material, creating a romantic atmosphere.
