How to transform your house into a work of art using mosaic

Since ancient times, the mosaic was one of the most popular solutions for decor. Today, however, the mosaic was reinterpreted in a modern style thanks to new materials that enable unique effects. Stone, marble, glass or ceramics can satisfy the most sophisticated tastes.

What is mosaic

WHAT IS MOSAIC

The mosaic is a technique that involves covering, usually of a wall, with small parts of different materials, usually square shaped. But the mosaic can also be used to dress ceramic pieces or furniture. The advantage, in terms of decoration, of using this technique is that small pieces of stone, marble, glass or travertine change their color depending on how light diffuses, whether natural or artificial.

Where is used

WHERE IS USED mosaic

If until now the mosaic was used mainly in bathrooms and kitchens, trends in recent years have made it to migrate also in hallways or bedrooms. The forms that can be obtained from combining the small plates, often create unique pieces.

Elegant and luxurious, the mosaic used in bathroom will completely change the look of this room. A particular advantage is that you can customize the model used. If you choose to dress the entire bathroom in mosaic, you should pay attention choosing the colors, because too many shades can create a tiring decor.

The presence of mosaic in the bedroom may seem unique, but it is more interesting as it is not so common. Choose to cover only one wall mosaic, preferably the one of the bed. Use warm shades of brown, golden, to enhance the comfort of the room.

In a kitchen you can get a fantastic visual effect using ceramic parts combined with glass, for example. Metallic brilliance also gives an extremely luxurious aspect to the kitchen.

Also the hall of the entrance will look perfect with a mosaic structure. It is a special way to properly welcome your guests.
