How to decorate for the Holidays a small house

Even a small apartment or a studio apartment have to be properly prepared for the winter holidays. If you do not have very much space, there are plenty of solutions so you can enjoy the magical atmosphere of Christmas.

Here are some tips that will transform your beloved small house into a little paradise:

Avoid the Christmas tree

You could say it’s not holiday without a Christmas tree in the house. True, but when things are so cramped, where do you put a Christmas tree so it can be admired in all its splendor? If you really want to feel the scent of fir-tree branches, place a wreath on a wall or a door. And the baubles that otherwise you would have put on the Christmas tree, put them in a bowl of clear glass and let it somewhere at sight.

Do not block the traffic

If you are going to invite for lunch or dinner a big gang of friends, choose the Swedish buffet. Put all the food on a table and let everyone put what they want to eat on a plate, then sit where they can. Specifically, on large pillows, on Ottomans or chairs that you have around the house.

Create specific atmosphere

Candles are excellent lighting options for small spaces and a great way to give a festive note without wasting space. Also, lighting chains hanging on walls and ceilings are another discreet option.

CREATE SPECIFIC ATMOSPHERE

Decorate with colored potpourri

In winter holiday, the scent of your home is as important as its decor. Designers recommend filling small bowls with orange and apple peel, cinnamon, cloves and dried flowers sprinkled with a few drops of essential oils.

Color in minimalist style

Holidays do not force you to exaggerate with red, green and silver, the more so as because you have a small space and this means to overload it. Minimize the colors and stake on white and a few notes of gold, to give shine to the space. Obviously, you can use a few spots of red and green.

COLOR IN MINIMALIST STYLE

Decorate the table simplistic

In a small room, any oversized decor distracts attention and occupies the living space. Because the table cannot be big in this framework, use simplistic, delicate decor. Use white tablecloths and put just a simple arrangement in the centre, with a candle and some pine branches.
