How to choose the destination for the Christmas holiday

Holiday packages for the Christmas period are some of the best deals as it includes many attractions that manage to stir the attention of both children and adults. Christmas is an ideal opportunity to spend time with loved ones and have fun together. If you are going to go on such a vacation, here are some issues that you should keep in mind for planning:

destination for the Christmas holiday

1. Choose the most appropriate destination

The main destinations for Christmas are Austria (Vienna) and Levi / Rovaniemi (Lapland). The Christmas concert at the palace, the wheel in Prater park and the Christmas market, on the one hand, and Santa’s Village, on the other hand, are the main entertainment for adults and children. Another appropriate destination is Israel. Tourists can attend the ceremony in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem on Christmas Eve.

2. Visit the European Christmas markets

If you spend your vacation in Europe, you can visit one of the Christmas markets opened here. In Prague, for example, they are open from 26 November until January 1st. This year for Christmas vacation you find many major cities in Europe, where are opened Christmas fairs: Vienna, Prague, Frankfurt, Munich, Nuremberg, Athens, Stockholm, Budapest etc. Skansen is the first open air museum in Stockholm, equipped with a zoo. Tourists can take part here at traditional celebrations, tasting local foods and buying souvenirs and seasonal products, from marzipan to embroidery. In Athens, the Christmas period brings free admission to museums and a festive atmosphere, present everywhere in the city.

Prices for 3 nights in 3 or 4 stars hotels do not reach 100 euros per person. In this case the transport is not included in the price but can be provided on request.

3. Combine Christmas with skiing holiday

For skiers, the Austrian resorts are suitable destinations for the Christmas holiday. For example, one of the most popular resorts is Zell am See, Austrian Alps. The resort is a paradise for winter sports, being equipped with various modern facilities. The place is suitable also for those who want to relax and enjoy the tranquility in a white landscape. An 8-day holiday here cost around 450 euros per person.

4. Exoticism on Christmas

For an exotic Christmas holiday, you can choose the Egyptian resort Sharm El Sheikh. Located in the southern Sinai Peninsula, the landscape combines mountains with dessert and the sea. For snorkeling and diving, Sharm is the perfect destination, ranking among the best resorts for this kind of sport. A vacation for a week over the Christmas period cost around 550 euros per person.
