HOW EVOLVED THE GLOBAL ARCHITECTURE: 5 IMPRESSIVE BUILDINGS

Architecture takes more and more spectacular and unusual shapes, giving us an overview of how will look the future buildings. Irregular shapes, materials used and futuristic technologies look like the images we see in science fiction movies.

Since the industrial revolution, architecture began to experience a globally simplification, with clear lines and few details. Future buildings go further than that and explore different the properties of materials, defy gravity and surprise us with angles and structures that didn’t exist a few decades ago.

Inspired by futuristic projections or by nature itself, modern architects design enormous buildings in unconventional shapes. Here are some modern and unusual architectural concepts!

ZAYED MUSEUM IN ABU DHABI

Zayed National Museum in Abu Dhabi is truly a building that leaves you breathless, located on Saadiyat island and built in honor of Sheikh Zayed. Of the 12 architectural firms who fought for the honor of designing the museum, Foster and Partners won and built this unique construction.

The building is constructed in the form of steel “feathers”, 125 m high, designed to house the historical treasures of the United Arab Emirates.

OPERA HOUSE IN IZMIR

Another new concept of architecture is highlighted in the project presented by the company Nuvist Architecture & Design, to design the building that houses the Opera House in the city of Izmir. The amazing architectural design combines art and civilization of modern life with the identity of the place. The building is designed to use electrical effects adapted from urban functional system.

KHAN SHATYR

Khan Shatyr construction is already a reality and it is a huge transparent building in the form of a gigantic tent, located in the center of Astana (the new capital of the state Kazaskhstan). The building serves both as a cultural center and as a milieu of social interaction between citizens.

MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN CAGLIARI, ITALY

The Museum of Contemporary Art in Cagliari, Italy, is the project won by auction by the architects of Zaha Hadid company, clearly followers of futuristic architectural concepts. The building occupies about 12,000 square meters!
