To make a major change inside a room, there is no need to resort to large-scale changes. Sometimes minor interventions in design may have more impact than you think. Here are some decorative ideas with guaranteed effect!
1. RELY ON OVERLAPPING EFFECT
You want to give a touch of novelty and depth to a room? In this case, rely on the effect of overlapping objects and textures! For example, two framed pictures or mirrors can be partially overlapped to create a special effect. Also a stack of books can acquire personality if you decorate it with a funny object placed on top. Last but not least, an armchair, a sofa or a chair covered with a comforter or a blanket will seem a completely different piece of furniture and will change the look of the entire room.
2. ADD A LAMP FOR EXTRA LIGHTING
The brightness of a room is more important than you might think. Changes to the design can include also inserting a new lamp for more light. A lamp with personality – such as one in an intense color matching or in contrast with the color of the room – will change the atmosphere instantly.
To ensure that the lamp chosen has the adequate size – especially when using to read – make sure the bottom of the shadow it creates is on the ear or your cheeks when you’re seated.
3. USE SMART A FABRIC SHOWER CURTAIN
Although it isn’t as common as that of PVC, a fabric curtain may be a more versatile acquisition than you might expect! When one remove it from the bathroom, there’s no need to throw it: you can use it as a curtain in another room of the house. As well the bathroom curtain can become a comforter for your armchair or the basis for your future decorative pillowcases. The advantage of a fabric shower curtain is that it allows you to put in place a lot of design ideas without spending a lot of money.
4. TURN YOUR BATHROOM INTO A SPA
There’s no need to invest large sums of money to give your bathroom a new look. If you’re looking to turn your bathroom into a relaxing space, like a spa, know that all you have to do is to buy towels, bath mats and other decor elements in light shades, preferably white. The materials are also important: the more fluffy and soft are the towels and mats, the final effect will be more pronounced.
5. CHANGE THE POSITION OF ART OBJECTS IN THE HOUSE
Your home boasts with the presence of real objects of art? If not even you stop to admire them, it means they became “invisible” also for your guests and that it is time to change their position. Moving a painting from a wall to another could be the ideal solution to re-attract attention. The same urge is valid also with other special items, such as statues, carved side-lamps, precious vases etc.
