Closet office- comfortable, functional, affordable

Times are changing and evolution brings things that one hundred years ago were out of one’s imagination. Take working from home for instance. You can now do the things you’re best at from the comfort of your home and work for people hundred miles away from you. Well, if that’s your case too, or if you spend a lot of time on your personal projects but your home isn’t that much of a generosity when it comes to space, you might want to check the lines and pictures below to learn a bit about transforming your closet into your office.

White closet office

The great thing about one’s home is that with a bit of imagination, the place can turn into something totally different from the initial state of it. Now, if you need to create a little office at home but the space at your disposal totally disagrees with that, there’s this ingenuous solution people have started to resort to, and that is, turning your closet into your workplace. Oh, well, your wife or girlfriend will most probably befriend that “It’s impossible!” version but with a few tricks and as much creativity as you’re capable of, you can turn your closet into what will surely become a place not only of working but of relaxation as well.

Closet office with doors

Keep in mind that using your closet for your work doesn’t mean you will have to give up storing various things there. No, you can still keep the biggest part of them and add a desk for your computer and other office supplies.

Closet office

There are many stores selling desks and chairs especially for such offices. They should be small so they can fit in but comfortable at the same time. Now, in order to increase the feeling of spaciousness, you can add a mirror. Use every bit of space but make sure it won’t get too crowded and thus avoid turning the closet into one that will suffocate you.

Colorful closet office

Therefore, use the doors for various items or sticky notes. Go for beautifully decorated boxes to store the things that were chaotically occupying the shelves in your closet. They will keep them organized and cut a pleasant figure as well. Change the color of the walls and doors and opt for the one you find most relaxing. Check our post on color psychology to find out more about the color that suits you best.

And don’t forget that, even if this space was initially used for storing and will still be (80% of it), there aren’t too many things that will eat the space without a good reason. Check the pictures below to get inspired and why not, use something you like very much (like your movies, favorite music and so on) to create a themed closet office. The internet is suffused with closet office pictures. Browse them to get inspired and start designing!
