The chocolate cake without flour, is perfect for people who are on a diet, but is also perfect for those who want a creamy cake that does not require a long cooking time.
Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsalted butter, diced
– 1/4 cup cocoa powder
– 1/4 cup liquid cream
– 225 grams sweet chocolate, chopped (can be replaced with bitter chocolate)
– 5 eggs
– 1 cup sugar
– a pinch of salt
– peel from an orange
– rum esence
Directions:
Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Grease a removable tray, of approximately 8 inch with butter and coat it with cocoa.
In a midsize saucepan, add butter and 1/4 liquid cream. Put the pot on the stove over medium heat and stir constantly until butter is melted. Do not let the content boil. If you notice that it is too heated, remove pan from heat and stir constantly until butter melts. Add the chocolate and stir well until it melts and get a uniform composition without lumps.
In a medium size bowl for mixer add the eggs and salt, mix them well until you get a frothy composition. Add sugar, cocoa, orange peel and rum (as desired) and mix composition. Incorporate the mixture in the chocolate composition previously prepared.
Add the cake in the tray and bake for 35-40 minutes.
When ready, remove the cake from the oven and leave to cool in the pan for one hour, then take it out on a plate and coat it with powdered sugar.
How to serve the chocolate cake
When the cake has cooled completely, cut it into slices of the desired size and serve with chocolate topping, berries or whipped cream. Of course you can combine the chocolate with fruits and / or whipped cream.
