Blue, green, red or yellow? What color suits your house

Choosing colors in home decor is not an easy task, but there are some tricks that can ease your decision. You can start from a base color, which you establish either depending on what is already in the house, or if it is a new house, you can choose the color according to your preferences. Here’s what you do:

1. The base color BLUE

Blue relaxes, stimulates imagination, lowers blood pressure, being a color recommended for bedrooms. But it is equally suitable for Mediterranean interiors, being easily to combine it with white and natural wood. Also blue can be combined with pastel shades of pink, yellow, green. When you use it in wall decor, do not use it all over the room, because you get a push effect if the chosen hue is a deep, dark one. Use it on an end perspective wall, for example. Or you can use deep blue colored massive furniture in these areas.

2. The base color GREEN

Green is one of the favorite colors for decor internationally, having, like blue, a relaxing effect and, in addition, provides a sense of control, harmony, and mental and physical regeneration. Therefore, it is recommended for offices and working rooms, but also for bathrooms and terraces. It combines well with a lot of shades from yellow to orange or red, but also with neutral white, ivory, natural wood.

3. The base color RED

This color expresses and produces energy, increases heart rate and blood pressure, and Feng Shui experts recommend it as a color for the front door to attract prosperity, well-being. In design, it is recommended that any decor have 5% red. A red decoration will always attract attention to itself, so it must be chosen with care. It would be preferable that a piece of furniture in a room to be a deep red or a few decor objects that cheery complement a palette of pale or neutral colors. Also, another good idea would be to use red for wallpaper or for lighting objects.

4. The base color YELLOW

Yellow and orange have the gift to brighten any room. Whether it is a sunflower yellow, straw yellow or yellow so pale that barely distinguish, this color exudes energy, vitality, and in Feng Shui is assimilated to partial fire, although it is a color of the earth. However, unlike red or purple, the fire of yellow is reduced, but its benefits are the same. It is suitable for living rooms and kitchens, stimulates appetite and intellect, but it is better to use it sparingly. Combine yellow with gray, brown, with shades of dark red or green.
