It has been over 800 years since the Japanese took over some elements of the Song Dynasty architecture in China, and created their own style, Zenshuyo (Zen style). Zen style has developed rapidly and became increasingly complex, but it has become a global power in XX and XXI centuries, with the development of the press and the Internet.
The pure oriental charm promoted by this style has determined great designers to include elements of zen style in modern buildings they have designed. The bell-shaped windows or panel doors that let light pass are just a few examples. But the biggest global success had the decorations, ornaments, called also kibana.
In this article, you can see some of the most interesting zen decorations for the house – beautiful indoor fountains. Water and stone are the main elements in these ornaments, carefully crafted in natural rock.
We begin with an indoor fountain in a classical Zen form, with levels aranged in circular steps. Ardo indoor fountain is made in Germany, from natural slate, and it comes with the pump necessary for water recirculation.
However, not all interiors allow integration of elements with round lines, like indoor fountain above. In this case, you can choose indoor fountains with polygonal steps, like the Mandala model below. For its manufacture was used an ivory rock, which gets gorgeous shades under the light of the halogen lamp with which is equipped the fountain.
There are also ways to combine shapes. Polygons and circles, angles and curves in the same product. Guan indoor fountain is an example and it also has a superb contemporary air. It is extremely suitable in offices, but also in living rooms.
The classic round stone, unshaped, fits perfectly in rustic or neo-rustic style interiors. A combination of traditional and modern, elegant, Dao Ling interior fountain is recommended to break the monotony of a corner of the room.
Sun and moon are symbols extensively used in oriental architecture and interior design. Sidu fountain interior proposes a truly astounding color combination. It is the proof that the colors of natural stone are impossible to imitate. The contrast between the outer ring and ‘core’ is absolutely gorgeous, and the suspended lamp makes the object more brilliant.
