Madeleines are easy to prepare and are appreciated by the whole family. We propose you today to try a recipe for aromatic madeleines that go perfectly with a cup of coffee.
Ingredients
– 6 oz brown sugar
– 3 medium eggs
– 4 oz butter
– 3 fl oz of milk
– 11 oz flour
– 1 sachet baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– zest of one orange
– 1/2 vial of vanilla essence
– 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Directions
In a capacious bowl add flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and mix well.
Melt the butter and let it cool until it reaches room temperature.
Separately, in a mixer bowl add the eggs and sugar and mix well until the mixture doubles its volume. Add the vanilla, orange peel and milk. Finally incorporate the flour mixture and melted butter. Mix well until you obtain a homogeneous composition.
Cover the bowl with cling film and leave it in the fridge for 20-25 minutes.
Preheat oven to 180 ° C and grease with butter the tray for madeleines.
Add the composition for madeleines in the tray and bake them at medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until are slightly browned.
Madeleines can be served simple, powdered with sugar or with jam.
