Aromatic dessert: caramel-cake with apples

Want to prepare a delicious cake without much effort? Try caramel-cake with apples! It is a simple recipe, but very delicious.

Ingredients:

– 14 oz brown sugar
– 4 oz flour
– 3 eggs
– 8-9 apples
– 1 cup walnuts
– 4 tablespoons honey
– 2 oz butter
– 4 tablespoons sugar
– 1 cup water
– 1 sachet baking powder
– zest of one orange
– vanilla essence
– cinnamon
– salt

Directions:

Put half the amount of sugar in a saucepan over low heat and let it melt. Be careful though, not to burn. Then spin the pot carefully so as to cover its walls, as you do the creme brulee. Then put the pot in the refrigerator to cool.

Meanwhile peel the apples and remove the counterfoil taking care to keep them whole.

In a mixer bowl add the egg whites and a pinch of salt. Beat egg whites and incorporate half of the amount of sugar. In another bowl beat the egg yolks with the remaining sugar until it triples the size and incorporate the orange peel and vanilla.

Add the yolks over the egg whites and mix with a spatula or a wooden spoon from the bottom up.

In another bowl mix flour with baking powder and cinnamon. Gradually incorporate it into the egg mixture, stirring gently so as to not droop the composition.

In a bowl, add chopped nuts, honey and cinnamon powder. Mix thoroughly.

Remove the pot from refrigerator and grease it with 50 grams of butter. Fill each apple with nut mixture and lay them in the bowl. Pour the cake batter over and bake for 40-50 minutes at 340 degrees F.

Meanwhile prepare the syrup boiling water with 4 tablespoons of sugar and apple peels. Put it in a bowl and let it cool.

When the cake is ready let it cool for 5 minutes then flip it on a platter. If you don’t do this operation while the cake is hot, the caramel will harden and you will not be able to remove it. Leave it to cool completely and then add the syrup.

Serve the cake cold with a tablespoon of natural whipped cream.
