7 TIPS FOR A UNIQUE BOOKCASE

The library is one of the most complicated arrangement in the house. You mount it, unpack the books and … surprise! You ask yourself how to arrange them to look good! Here are a few tricks that will help you make the bookcase very appealing.

HANG PAINTINGS

The books are never the same size. Perhaps only if they are all from the same collection. But their different appearance always makes you step back when it comes to arranging them on shelves. Therefore, you can mask the “mess” using simple pictures, you also have a perfect place to display them and, in addition, you add a new dimension to the room.

NEON SHELVES

We bet that no one has thought of this until now. Because it’s unusual to see instead of the classic wooden shelves, some transparent and in a color that draws attention.

TRANSFORM THE BOOKCASE INTO A BAR

Use a few shelves for your glasses and your collection of fine drinks. At least temporarily. Until after the party.

TETRIS SHELVES

Go beyond the classic boring bookcase and create your own piece, after your tastes and needs. Overlap metal modules as a stairway of cubes and you get a unique bookcase.

HORIZONTALLY

We used to put the books upright as they stand in public libraries. It is true that is a more practical way, especially where you can not stack dozens of volumes. But at home, seven or eight books can be placed horizontally, one above the other, on each row. Thus, you create a new perspective line in the room.

COLOR IT

An ideal way to add personality to a room is to paint your bookcase to your liking. Whether you paint it in black or in a light, cheerful color, such piece of furniture can tell a lot about you.

TRANSFORM IT INTO A BREAKFRONT

No need of a sophisticated breakfront to add a new aspect to the room. It’s enough to fit several shelves and to “close” them with an old window frame. Obviously in such a retro bookcase fit volumes from Hachette collection and trinkets with sentimental value.
