Most likely, after the winter holidays you could have a big collection of corks from the wine bottles recently emptied. If you kept them, the better. If not, start right now to collect them! Here are some decorations that you can quickly make using them:
Decorative heart
There’s just a month left until Valentine’s Day, so better prepare yourself even from now. Collect the corks from all your friends and when you manage to collect around 200 pieces, you can start to create the decorative heart. All you need is a cardboard support, glue and a place to expose your artwork.
Mini pots
Corks can also become supports for succulent plants. Gouge with a knife one end of the cork until you manage to get a hole of approximately two centimeters deep. Put in it soil and stick little plants such as jade tree, Echeveria or mini cactuses. These are resistant plants and it is sufficiently to drip with a pipette occasionally some water.
With a mini-magnet fixed to the cork, you can “paste” these pots on the refrigerator’s door.
Panel for notes
Perhaps a classic cork panel might seem trivial, but one like the one in the picture above is a very interesting decorative piece. You need a carved mirror frame. Glue on the back a sheet of cardboard, then fix the corks so to cover the entire frame.
Funny characters
You can entertain your children creating a true puppet show using corks. You also need some markers and colored balloons. And little talent for drawing. It remains that children find their proper names for the “Big Noses” created by you.
Support for hot pots
Another extremely simple variant to use corks is to stick them together in height so as to make a support for hot pots.
Necklace
You can get a unique necklace by slicing corks. Dress each cork disc in wool as illustrated above, then catch them together and you got a unique piece.
Decorative letters
And because 3D letters are more and more fashionable, you can get such an initial using a template from cardboard and corks.
