4 spooky decorations for a by-the-book Halloween

Halloween is fast approaching and you’ve probably already thought to organize a party, if not for adults, at least for children. And the decor is the essential element in this situation. Here are some ornaments that may look downright scary, suitable for such an event.

Lanterns

Lanterns help you the most to create a terrifying atmosphere. Therefore, they should not miss from the scenery. Dress empty jars in scotch made from lighter paper, which is slightly transparent. Then paste black paper cutouts to create funny faces. Finally, line up the jars on a windowsill and put among them an installation of light like those for the Christmas tree.

Apple heads

To complete your props with more natural elements, peel some apples, sprinkle them with lemon juice with some salt so they don’t blacken, then with the tip of a sharp knife carve their faces. You must not give too much attention to details, because apple pulp will work only over time, and the faces will become more ugly by the day. Use rice grains for teeth and colored buttons for eyes.

Mummies made from jars

You want some other creepy decorations? You can turn the empty jars into mummies! You need a roll of gauze, a jar, a little glue and some buttons. Glue one end of the gauze on bottom of the jar, then dress the jar in this transparent canvas. When you’re done, apply the other end of the gauze with glue and, for safety, you can dot from place to place, so the strips will not come loose. Glue the eyes, then put a candle in the jar to make the mummy scary.

Haunted terrarium

In the DIY stores you can find now a lot of pieces specially designed for Halloween, you just have to find a theme. For example, a haunted terrarium. Place on a tray natural or artificial moss and in some jars turned upside down place mini-skeletons, tarantulas or raven silhouettes. You get a fantastic decoration that will delight those who come to your party.
