3 recipes with oranges for a fairytale Christmas

Winter holidays are coming and preparations are in full swing. Like every year, you want to fill the Christmas table with the best dishes to delight your guests. Here are three delicious recipes for desserts with oranges that you have to prepare this year.

Fast and simple orange cake

FAST AND SIMPLE ORANGE CAKE

Ingredients:
– 3 eggs
– 1 orange
– 100 ml oil
– 100 ml milk
– 300 g sugar
– 300 g flour
– 1 sachet baking powder
– 1 pinch of salt
– vanilla essence
– 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Coat with butter and flour a pan of about 9,8 inch.

Peel the orange and cut it into cubes. Remove seeds.

In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon.

In a blender add the eggs, orange, oil, milk and sugar and mix everything until you get a frothy composition. Add the mixture obtained in a roomy bowl and gradually incorporate with a spoon the flour mixture.

Bake the cake for 40 minutes. To check if it’s cooked, insert a toothpick into the cake. If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is baked. However, if the toothpick notice traces of dough, leave it in the oven for 5 minutes then repeat the toothpick test.

Leave the cake to cool before serving. You can decorate with orange slices for a more pleasant look.

Cookies with orange and chocolate chips

COOKIES WITH ORANGE AND CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Ingredients:
– 260 g flour
– 1 sachet baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 170 g unsalted butter
– 100g white sugar
– 200 g brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon freshly grated orange zest
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 eggs
– 100 g chocolate crisps
– 100 g pecans, chopped

Directions:
Preheat oven to 180 ° C. Coat a tray with parchment paper.

In a capacious bowl mix flour with baking powder and salt.

In another bowl, for mixer, add butter, sugar, orange peel and vanilla and mix them well until you get a fluffy composition. Add the eggs gradually, stirring well to incorporate. Add flour mixture and after you get a homogeneous composition carefully incorporate the chocolate chips and the pecans cut into pieces.

With a teaspoon put the cookies in the tray at a distance of about 2 inch apart. Bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until they become golden. Leave them to cool before serving.

Orange jam

ORANGE JAM

Ingredients:
– 1 kg oranges
– 1 kg sugar
– 1 star anise
– 2 berries of allspice
– 2 cinnamon sticks
– juice from one lemon
– zest from one orange
– a pinch of salt

Directions:
Peel the oranges, remove seeds and cut them into cubes.

In a pot with double bottom add the oranges, sugar, salt and lemon juice. Boil everything on low heat for about an hour. Meanwhile do not forget to stir constantly the jam. Add the star anise, allspice, cinnamon sticks and orange zest and boil for another 10-15 minutes the composition.

To preserve the jam for a long period of time, put it in clean and dry jars when it is hot. Close the jars well and turn them upside down. Leave them so until it cools completely. In this way, the jars will void and you will not have to boil them.
